Set up and manage your services catalog with pricing, categories, and descriptions to streamline job creation and invoicing.
Overview
The Services Catalog is your library of services you offer. By setting up services in advance, you can quickly add them to jobs, estimates, and invoices without re-entering details each time.
Getting Started
Before setting up services, consider:
- What services do you offer?
- How do you price each service (flat rate, per square foot, hourly)?
- How do you want to categorize services?
- Do you have service packages? (see Service Packages)
Creating Services
Step-by-Step: Add a New Service
- Navigate to Services Catalog in the sidebar

- Click "New Service" or the plus icon

- Fill in service details:

- Name: Service name (e.g., "Lawn Mowing", "Fertilization")
- Description: Detailed description of the service
- Category: Select or create category
- Service Type: Lawn Mowing, Landscaping, Tree Service, etc.
- Pricing: Configure pricing structure
- Set pricing:

- Pricing Unit: Flat Rate, Hourly, Square Foot, Linear Foot, etc.
- Default Rate: Default price for this service
- Minimum Price: Minimum charge (optional)
- Add additional details:

- Estimated Duration: How long service typically takes
- Notes: Internal notes about the service
- Click "Save Service"

Service Information Fields
- Name: Service name (required)
- Description: What the service includes
- Category: Service category for organization
- Service Type: Type of service (Lawn Mowing, Landscaping, etc.)
- Pricing Unit: How the service is priced
- Default Rate: Standard price
- Minimum Price: Minimum charge
- Estimated Duration: Typical time to complete
- Notes: Internal notes
Service Categories
Organize services into categories for easier management.
Creating Categories
- When creating or editing a service

- In Category field, type new category name

- Category is created automatically

- Or go to Services page and manage categories separately

Common Categories
- Lawn Care
- Landscaping
- Tree Service
- Hardscaping
- Irrigation
- Pest Control
- Seasonal Services
- Maintenance
- Consultation
- Other
Pricing Structures
Configure how each service is priced.
Pricing Units
- Flat Rate: Fixed price regardless of size
- Hourly: Price per hour of work
- Square Foot: Price per square foot
- Linear Foot: Price per linear foot
- Per Plant: Price per plant
- Per Tree: Price per tree
- Monthly: Monthly recurring price
- Seasonal: Price for entire season
Setting Default Rates
- When creating service, set Default Rate

- This rate is used when adding service to jobs/estimates

- Can be overridden for specific customers or properties

- Update default rate as needed

Property-Specific Pricing
Set custom pricing for specific properties:
- Go to customer property details

- Navigate to "Pricing" section

- Add custom price for service

- This overrides default rate for this property only

Using Services
Adding Services to Jobs
- When creating or editing a job

- Click "Add Service" or select from Services dropdown

- Service details are populated automatically

- Adjust quantity and rate as needed

- Save job

- When creating or editing an estimate

- Click "Add Line Item" or select service

- Service details populate

- Adjust as needed

- Save estimate

Adding Services to Invoices
- When creating or editing an invoice

- Click "Add Line Item" or select service

- Service details populate

- Adjust as needed

- Save invoice

Managing Services
Editing Services
- Go to Services Catalog

- Click on service name

- Click "Edit" button

- Update any fields

- Click "Save"

- Note: Changes affect future uses, not existing jobs/invoices

Duplicating Services
- Open service detail page

- Click "Duplicate" or menu option

- New service created with same details

- Edit as needed

- Save

Archiving Services
- Open service detail page

- Click "Archive" or "Deactivate" button

- Service is hidden from active list

- Can be reactivated later

- Existing jobs/invoices using service are not affected

Deleting Services
- Open service detail page

- Click "Delete" button

- Confirm deletion

- Note: Cannot delete services used in existing jobs/invoices

- Only OWNER can typically delete services

Service Packages
Create bundled services for common combinations.
- Go to Service Packages
- Create package with multiple services
- Set package price (may be discounted)
- Use package in estimates and jobs

Common Tasks
Searching Services
- Go to Services Catalog page

- Use search bar at top

- Type service name or description

- Results filter in real-time

Filtering Services
Use filter bar to filter by:
- Category
- Service Type
- Pricing Unit
- Active/Archived status
Exporting Services
- Go to Services Catalog page

- Click "Export" button

- Choose format (CSV, Excel)

- File downloads with all service data

Troubleshooting
Service not appearing in dropdown
- Check status: Ensure service is active (not archived)
- Refresh page: Try refreshing the page
- Verify category: Check if filters are hiding service
- Check permissions: Verify your role has access
Pricing not calculating correctly
- Check pricing unit: Verify pricing unit is set correctly
- Review rate: Ensure default rate is entered
- Check quantity: Verify quantity is set when adding to job/invoice
- Property pricing: Check if property-specific pricing is overriding
Can't delete service
- Check usage: Service may be used in existing jobs/invoices
- Verify permissions: Only OWNER can typically delete
- Archive instead: Consider archiving instead of deleting
Service details not populating
- Refresh page: Try refreshing and adding again
- Check service: Verify service is saved correctly
- Clear cache: Clear browser cache and try again
Category not saving
- Check format: Ensure category name is valid
- Refresh: Try refreshing page
- Verify permissions: Check your role allows category creation
