Create reusable estimate templates to speed up estimate creation and maintain consistency across estimates.

Overview

Estimate Templates allow you to save common estimate structures with pre-filled line items, notes, and settings. Use templates to quickly create estimates without re-entering the same information.

Getting Started

Access Estimate Templates from:

  • Estimate Templates in the sidebar
  • Or Estimates"Templates"

Creating Templates

Step-by-Step: Create a New Template

  1. Navigate to Estimate Templates

  1. Click "New Template" or the plus icon

  1. Enter template details:

  • Template Name: Name for the template (e.g., "Standard Lawn Care")
  • Description: When to use this template
  1. Add template line items:

  • Click "Add Line Item"
  • Description: Service description
  • Quantity: Default quantity (can be adjusted)
  • Rate: Default rate (can be adjusted)
  • Repeat for each service
  1. Add template notes:

  • Notes: Standard notes to include
  • Terms: Payment terms (optional)
  • Validity: Estimate validity period (optional)
  1. Click "Save Template"

  • Template Name: Descriptive name
  • Description: When to use template
  • Line Items: Pre-filled services
  • Notes: Standard notes
  • Terms: Payment terms
  • Settings: Default settings

Using Templates

Troubleshooting

Template not appearing

  • Check status: Ensure template is active (not archived)
  • Refresh page: Try refreshing
  • Verify template: Check if template is saved correctly
  • Check filters: Ensure filters aren't hiding template

Template line items not populating

  • Check template: Verify template has line items
  • Refresh: Try refreshing estimate page
  • Select again: Try selecting template again
  • Review template: Open template to verify content

Can't edit template

  • Check permissions: Only OWNER and EMPLOYEE can edit
  • Verify template: Ensure template exists
  • Try again: Refresh and try again
  • Contact support: If issue persists

Template changes not saving

  • Check required fields: Ensure all required fields are filled
  • Review content: Verify template content is valid
  • Try again: Refresh and save again
